If you wish to support The Royal Dragoon Guards Regimental Association or the Museum Trust with a legacy your solicitor might the following wording useful to write or amend your Will. You can choose to leave a share of your estate, a fixed sum or a specific gift; instructions for each are below.
"I direct my executors to make over the residue (or a percentage share of the residue) of my estate to The Royal Dragoon Guards Regimental Association (Charity Number 1012766), or The Royal Dragoon Guards Regimental Museum Trust (Charity Number 1058511), or The Serving Officers Regimental Trust, at Home Headquarters, The Royal Dragoon Guards, 3 Tower Street, York, YO1 9SB, for its general charitable purposes. I further direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the charity for the time being shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my executors."
"I direct my executors to pay the sum of (amount in words and figures) to The Royal Dragoon Guards Regimental Association (Charity Number 1012766), or The Royal Dragoon Guards Regimental Museum Trust (Charity Number 1058511), or The Serving Officers Regimental Trust, at Home Headquarters, The Royal Dragoon Guards, 3 Tower Street, York, YO1 9SB, for its general charitable purposes. "If at my death any charity named as a beneficiary in this Will or any Codicil hereto has changed its name or amalgamated with or transferred its assets to another body then my Executors shall give effect to any gift made to such charity as if it had been made (in the first case) to the body in its changed name or (in the second place) to the body which results from such amalgamation or to which such transfer has been made."
