Dear Sir,
carved into the wall of the barracks in Colchester is the graffiti, Methuen, 9th May, 1885, 6th Dragoons. I was just wondering if there was anyway of finding out about this individual? The old barracks are being redeveloped at the moment so the chances are that this piece of the barrack wall that runs along Butt Rd in Colchester will be lost at some point along with all the graffiti that runs from the 1800s until the 1970s. A piece of history that once gone can never be recovered.
Thankyou Ron
