Walk with Joe - Hadrians Wall

Walk with Joe - Hadrians Wall

Wed, 20th Jun, 2018

I received the sad news of my friend’s death of a massive heart attack in October last year.

To complete a walk in his memory was not as daft as it sounds. We have done a lot of proper walks together when we weren’t just heading to the pub, although, it was common knowledge that the pub often featured during the proper walks.

I decided on the 84 mile Hadrian’s Wall Trail across the north of England to put me into some of the situations that would rekindle memories and, perhaps, give me time to remember the laughs.

Well, I done it; and have the blisters and missing toenails to prove it. It also had other benefits in that, thanks to the support of a lot of people, we raised almost £1900 in his memory for the British Heart Foundation. For that I wish to thank you all on behalf of Joe’s family.

Meg is putting a link into the newsletter to take you to the blog I completed after the walk. I hope you all enjoy it; I enjoyed the chance to walk with him in my head once again. FTW Alan Houston
